S.S.GRIN Adolescents
School professionals, clinicians and parents agree: adolescence can be tough. Adolescence is viewed as a critical, and often conflicted, period of development due to the biological, social, cognitive, and self-definitional/personal identity transitions which occur during this time. S.S.GRIN-A targets this significant period and includes the skills, issues, and themes specific to early- to middle- adolescents (ages 13-16 years).
The 12-week, step-by-step curriculum is designed for school, after-school, community and clinic settings. The group experience provides a rich context in which youth can learn from, and model for others, a number of strategies for handling social dilemmas. Using easy-to-follow scripts, leaders guide teens through thought provoking and fun activities, allowing them to discover and practice skills with a set of peers similar to the ones they will encounter outside of the group. Embedded in evidence-based methodology, S.S.GRIN-A takes the science of helping youth build basic behavioral and cognitive skills and brings it alive with the art of modern imagination. It is serious fun!
The S.S.GRIN-A kit includes all the materials needed to run a group of up to 10 adolescents. Additional youth portfolios and group materials can be ordered as needed through the S.S.GRIN-A Subscription in your SELect Member Services account.
