S.S.GRIN Overview
S.S.GRIN (Social Skills Group Intervention) is a targeted, effective intervention that is addressing both bullies and victims in schools across the country. An evidence-based, age-appropriate, anti-bullying intervention, S.S.GRIN has been proven to dramatically reduce school violence and increase the social-emotional competence of both perpetrators and victims.
Within S.S.GRIN’s ten, 50-minute sessions, specific social-emotional skills are taught through dynamic instruction and practice (games & activities). With fully scripted lesson plans, counselors are guided in how to use modeling, positive reinforcement, and cognitive re-framing to support the specific skills within each session.
• S.S.GRIN is a Response to Intervention (RTI) Tier 2 program.
• S.S.GRIN works. Results published in the Journal of Child and Clinical Psychology show a 24% increase in “liking” by peers, a 44% decrease in “aggression” and a 63% decrease in “antisocial affiliations.”
• S.S.GRIN enables counselors to demonstrate and track their proactive approach to reducing student aggression and helping bullying victims – verifying compliance with bully prevention policies.
• S.S.GRIN is easy-to-use. However, FREE online training is available 24x7 through our state of the art web portal, for which participants earn CE credits.
