Zoo U is an exciting new offering from SELmedia^®. Zoo U is an online adventure game for children in grades 3 and 4.  After customizing their avatar, players explore a variety of social situations (e.g., impulse control, initiation) in a virtual school setting.

In real time, the game automatically adjusts the level of difficulty, making social interactions easier or harder, according to the skill level of the player.

Zoo U is also a powerful assessment tool for educators.  Behind the scenes, data is collected on the player's every move including the choices they made during the social interactions, where else on the screen they clicked (did they get distracted?), and how long it took to complete the scenes.  With the click of a button, that data is transformed into easy to read, graphical reports showing the player’s relative social skill level.  Download sample report.

Zoo U is designed to be used as an assessment tool at the Tier 1 (universal) level, allowing for quick and objective screening for assignment to Tier 2 social skills interventions.
